Jesus: The Foundation Which is Laid
For no other foundation can anyone lay
than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Some people ask, “WWJD?” (What Would Jesus Do?). There is no other foundation on which anyone can build a life than on the example of Jesus’ life. There is no other foundation for salvation than Jesus’ death. Now He stands in Heaven at the right hand of the Father as your Intercessor. He pleads forgiveness for your sins and asks for help for you to resist temptations. Jesus is the Foundation upon which you now relate to God the Father. Will you build your life upon Him?
Jesus, I build my life upon Your teaching, for no one else gives me truth. I stake my salvation upon Your death, for You are the only forgiveness of sin. I live my life in the power of Your indwelling, for You are my only protection against evil.
Jesus is the Foundation Which Is Laid. He has done everything for you that needs to be done. When He cried, “It is finished,” on the cross (John 19:30), He completed salvation for you and for all who call upon His name. Salvation has been completed, and the Foundation is now laid. Your responsibility is to build your Christian life on that solid Foundation. You can trust Him, for the Foundation is trustworthy.
Jesus, I will look beyond my doubts and fears. I will stand securely upon the Foundation Which Is Laid; I rest securely in You. I will look to You as my example; I will live for You as my Lord. Amen.
