Coffee Time with Jesus

  • Jesus: The Savior of the World
Then they said to the woman,
    "Now we believe,
not because of what you said,
for we ourselves have heard Him
and we know that this is indeed the Christ,
    the Savior of the world.
    John 4:42

And we have seen and testify
that the Father has sent the Son
    as Savior of the world.
    1 John 4:14

Jesus is the Savior of the World, but He’s also the Savior of one—the individual. Notice how the circle begins large and gets smaller. Jesus is the Savior of the World (John 4:42); then Jesus is the Savior of the Church (Ephesians 5:23); and finally, Jesus is your Savior (1 Timothy 2:3-6). He is the Savior of people, one at a time. Jesus loves all the people in the world, but then the scope narrows to you: Jesus loves you and died for you.

Jesus, thank You for personal attention and for personal salvation. Thank You for being my personal Savior.

Since Jesus is the Savior of the World; He died for all—all who are alive now, all who were alive in the past and all who will live in the future. Jesus is the Savior from the penalty of past sin; have you asked Him to forgive every past sin? Jesus is also our Savior from the power of this evil world; has He delivered you? Jesus will be our Savior from the presence of sin at the coming day with “the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 1:10). Are you ready to meet your Savior?

Jesus, You are my Savior; thank You for saving me from past sins. I claim Your daily power to save me from daily sins. I look forward to Your personal coming to save me in the future from the presence of sin. Amen.

    Go Deeper: Titus 3:1-8

The Savior of the World must also be your personal Savior.
