The Tubes and the Flowers
My memory of Israel: When I got off the plane, I began noticing beautiful flowers everywhere. When I looked closer, I noticed little plastic tubes running through the soil, carrying water to each flower. You see, when the Jewish people came back to Israel, there were very few flowers. It was a barren, desert wasteland. In order to bloom, the flowers needed lots of help and care. The flowers that greeted me were being given water through a delicate line of plastic tubing. The flowers of the Promised Land aren't just flowers, they're miracles. So the flowers of the Promised Land and its children. If you're born again, you're a child of the Promised Land. Your new life in God is a miracle. God took what was a barren wasteland, your life without God that could not produce anything heavenly, and brought forth something beautiful. The life of God growing through your life is not natural, but a miracle. Never take it for granted. Cherish, protect and nourish it with the water of the Word and the rivers of His Spirit. It is nothing less than a miracle flower blossoming in the desert.
From Message #576 - Israel Pilgrimage 1996
Take a moment to reflect on the miracle of your life in God, the life that once was a barren, desert wasteland and now radiates with the love and glory of Messiah.
