  • Seeing Your Rabbi in the Mirror
    Friday, August 20, 2021

A disciple staying with his rabbi gave the servant of the house instructions to wake him early. The next morning, the disciple accidentally put on the rabbi's clothes instead of his own. In town, he passed a mirror. Seeing the man in the long rabbi's gown, the disciple was shocked. "That dumb servant, he woke up the rabbi instead of me!" It's an amusing story, but to see your Rabbi in the mirror is the mark of a wise disciple. Paul wrote, "It is not I who live, but Messiah..." Paul saw his Rabbi in the mirror. The same with you; the only way to be a true disciple of Jesus is to let Him live His life through yours, to move in your moving, to love in your loving, to minister in your ministering, to speak in your speaking, to touch in your touching, to rejoice in your rejoicing. If you belong to Messiah, it's His life anyway. Live it for His glory so that you can't tell where your life ends and His begins. When you look in the mirror, you don't see your life; but only that of your Rabbi.

    Today's Mission
Today, seek to live and move in His moving, love in His loving, minister in His ministering, speak in His speaking, touch in His touching, and rejoice in His rejoicing.
