When you deal with couples who are getting married, as a pastor, you need to encourage them to prepare. They end up preparing for the wedding but not for the marriage. That's what it's all about. The wedding is just one day, but the marriage is everyday of your life. So with believers in the Lord. Many believers get excited about the second coming, which is good, me too. That's the wedding, but you are not just supposed to prepare for the wedding; you are supposed to be preparing for the marriage. How do you prepare for marriage? Well, how do two people prepare for marriage? They learn how to dwell together, how to abide with each other, spend time with each other, and work out things that would separate them. Well, how do you prepare for marriage to God forever? Learn how to dwell with Him, spend time with Him, work out things, and make Him your chief joy now. Start practicing a heavenly life, a heavenly joy, heavenly love and a heavenly worship now, praising and loving. Because the wedding will come and go, but your marriage to God is forever.
