The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Him Who Raised Jesus
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead
He who raised Christ from the dead
will also give life to your mortal bodies
through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Did you see the Trinity in today’s verse? First, the Spirit of Him Who Raised Jesus is the Holy Spirit. Second, the prepositional phrase “of Him” refers to the Father. When the Father decreed Jesus’ resurrection, the Holy Spirit was the One who did it. And third, Jesus completes the Godhead. All three persons of the Trinity were active in the resurrection of Jesus, which provided new life for you.
Holy Spirit, thank You for the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, for it demonstrates that my sins were forgiven. Let my new Christian life be a testimony for You today.
You get many other benefits from Jesus’ resurrection. You were raised with Jesus to a new position in the heavenlies
(Ephesians 2:5-6). You can claim God’s blessings, for you are spiritually seated with Christ in glory. You are also indwelt with divine power to live a godly life (Romans 1:4). Now you can call on the power of Christ for victory over sin. Finally, in the last day, the Father will raise our human bodies through the Holy Spirit, just as the Spirit gave life to the body of Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit work through you today.
Holy Spirit, thank You for the new resurrected life that is available to me. I want resurrection power to overcome temptation and adversity. I want my earthly life to reflect my new position in the heavenlies. Thank You for the promise that my mortal body will be raised with resurrection power in the last day. Amen.
