Jesus: The Triumphant Son of Man
Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me.
And having turned I saw . . .
clothed with a garment down to the feet
and girded about the chest
Jesus is the Triumphant Son of Man who stood glorified and transfigured before John on the Isle of Patmos. His hair was “as white as snow” (Revelation 1:14), a symbol of His purity. His eyes were “like a flame of fire” (Revelation 1:14), a symbol of His ability to accurately discern the nature of people. His feet, which were “as if refined in a furnace” (Revelation 1:15), were quick to burn away impurities and sin. Jesus wants you to be pure and truthful in all you do.
Lord Jesus, I bow before Your majesty; forgive my sin. Receive honor and glory from my life. Guide me to do things that will bring praise to You today.
Jesus is the Triumphant Son of Man who stood before John in priestly garments. His voice was compared to “the sound of many waters” (Revelation 1:15), emphasizing His authority. “Out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword” (Revelation 1:16), symbolizing the Word of God that gives life. The brilliance about His countenance was “like the sun shining in its strength” (Revelation 1:16), reflecting His glory and transforming power. Jesus, the Triumphant Son of Man, can transform your life. He can help you triumph over all your spiritual problems.
Lord, when John saw You, he fell at Your feet. I follow his example to worship at Your feet. Since You are the glorified Son of God in my life, I praise You for becoming all things for me. Help me see perfectly Your glory so that I can reflect it to the world. Amen.
