The Holy Spirit: The Breath of Life
The breath of life from God entered them,
and they stood on their feet,
and great fear fell on those who saw them.
The Holy Spirit is the Breath of Life. When God breathed into the nostrils of Adam, the Holy Spirit was the Breath of Life that gave him physical life. Through the continual miracles of procreation, the Breath of Life has reached you and has given you existence. “For in him we live and move and exist” (Acts 17:28). When you were born again, the life of God entered you; the Breath of Life gave you spiritual life. You have life—physical and spiritual—because of the Holy Spirit. Now live for Him today. Because He is holy, He wants you to live a holy life. Because He is Spirit, He wants you to live a spiritual life.
Holy Spirit, thank You for life, both physical and spiritual. I will live for You today.
The Holy Spirit is the Breath of Life that resurrected the two witnesses back to physical life (Revelation 11:11). But instead of returning to their old bodies, they were given resurrected, glorified bodies. They will live forever in those transformed, renewed bodies. Just as the two witnesses were transformed because the Holy Spirit is the Breath of Life, so you will be resurrected in the last days. You will receive a new resurrected body from the Spirit, because He is the Breath of Life.
Holy Spirit, I know You will give me new life in the future, but today I need help. Blow Your Spirit into me. Encourage me, strengthen me, guide me and help me accomplish all I have to do. Amen.
