Psalm 37:3 sums up a great theological truth in the New Testament "Trust in the Lord and do good". If you don't trust, it doesn't matter what else you say, you are not going to be able to do good. Trust, believe, and then act on your faith. Don't try to do good without believing, don't try to force it. Don't just believe without applying your faith to action. Let every work come from faith and let your faith work. There is an old hymn that goes, "Trust and obey, there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." That's simple, but really profound. Believe the Word and then act on the Word. Trust and do good. Believe God's love and then let it become works of love. Believe God's promise and then act on His promise. Believe God's mercy and then do works of mercy. The key to abundant life is simple. Believe His Word and then just do it. Keep it simple. Trust in the Lord and do good. "Trust and obey because there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey."
From Message #980 - The Fruitful Bough
Today, focus on truly trusting God, more than before. Then put that faith into action.
