The Angel in the Wilderness
In an angelic event, Gabriel appears to announce the birth of John; Yochanan in Hebrew. An angelic event not only because of Gabriel, but because John is called in Greek, and even in Hebrew prophecy, an "angel," "malakh" in Hebrew, "angelos" in Greek, meaning messenger. Not your typical angel. He was hairy, locust eating, blunt, shouting, convicting people of sin and dunking them in the water. An angel who spent most of his life not in glory, but in the barren wilderness. God has unlikely angels, and if you're born again, you're to be one of them. You might be rough, blunt or hairy; nevertheless, you're to be an angel on assignment with a message. Even if you're in a wilderness, that's okay. God has angels in the wilderness. No matter your circumstances, live as an angel. Spend your life shining the light, waking up each day to say "I'm on assignment! Lord help me fulfill my mission today." Live as an angel and your life will be a heavenly mission, to spread the good news of the gospel, an angelic one, the life of His unlikely angel.
From Message #498 - The Angel in the Wilderness
Ask God what your assignment is today, so that you can be faithful to the mission He has for you.
