The Monster and The Baby
Monday, July 8, 2024
In the late 19th century, a customs service worker in the Austrian Empire fell in love and married his cousin, Klara, who gave birth to 3 children, all of whom died as infants. Her fourth child, a son, survived. He was her treasure. The baby's name: Adolfus Hitler, or Adolf Hitler. What I've described to you is the birth of perhaps the most diabolical man ever born. Was this the birth of a monster? No. April 20, 1889, was the birth of a baby, not a monster. That baby would grow up to be a monster because he'd make choices in his life of pride, anger, bitterness, self-pity, blame, selfishness, spite, and hatred. This very powerfully confirms the Word of God. Throughout your life, you're given choices that could lead you to become a monster on one hand or a saint on the other; life versus death. Over the long run, you become what you choose: a monster or a saint. So God says, "Choose life," because you will be not what you were and not what you are, but what you choose. Choose life.
