I saw the following comment here at ULC and it reminded me of a story.
"This forum sees us all bound together by affiliation to UCL but we still can’t agree."
I keep this story in mind always, as I go through life.
I believe this story is applicable, here, at ULC.
The Barrel of Love/Life
For the story I am about to tell, ULC is the barrel, the holes are the hate, the water is the love/life, we exist within the barrel. The goal is to keep the barrel full of water.
If a barrel has holes then the water leaks out. The greater holes become, or the more of the holes there are, the faster the water leaks out. We keep the barrel full, by adding water, however, water is wasted, because of the holes. If the holes become too great, or too many, it will never remain full. The results of this are, we will need even greater amounts of water, to be poured into the barrel, to keep it full. We must quit wasting water, for it is the right thing to do, we must repair the holes, and stop new holes from being made.
Everyone's bucket for pouring the water in, may be different, but that does not matter, the important part is, that the water is poured in. If we repair the holes, it does not matter, if one used a sock, and the other a piece of wood. Although one repair may be better, or last longer than the other, the important part is, that the loss of water is stopped. If we stop new holes from being made, then we will catch up on the repairs we are making on existing holes.
For all to agree on one method, of pouring water in, repairing the existing holes, or stopping new holes from being made, is not reality and is not needed. What is important, is that the barrel remains full.
To follow a path, towards getting all to agree, is a path of deception, for it is not reality.
We must continue to fill the barrel with love, with our own methods, that each of us have, and it does not matter, if our method is different than others.
We must shift our focus, towards stopping the hate, with our own methods, that each of us have, and it does not matter, if our method is different than others.
If we stop the hate, then our love will not be wasted.
To give love only, will not stop our love from being wasted, we must stop the hate, to save our love.
If we concentrate on stopping the hate, then what will be left is, great amounts of love, overflowing the barrel. The barrel remains full with less effort, for less love is wasted.
Let us not watch our love be wasted, let us stop the hate.
May we all work together, towards stopping the hate, and peace for all.
