One of the great themes of our faith is our collective understanding that someday, God and His people will triumph and defeat evil and sin with the Savior our Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul described the living conditions of "the last days" as "very difficult times," in which people "will be cruel and hate what is good" (2 Timothy 3:1, 3).
To some, that's an apt description of our times, isn't it? The world is a powder keg. Where anger turns into violence at the slightest provocation. Depression and isolation explode into addiction, suicide and murder. Countries teeter on the edge of war. Individuals lash out at both strangers and friends from behind computer screens with social media, filled with rage over another's political views and churches remain closed to the public. Leaving many congregations cut off from each other and the Word of God.
Amidst this chaos, there is a beacon of hope which is the promise that Christ will return and restore peace. He will "reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. And the last enemy to be destroyed is death." (1 Corinthians 15:25–26). He wins even over death. Perhaps our darkest, most relentless inevitable foe.
We as believers are with God in Christ. All earthly woes, financial pressures, emotional trauma, physical disabilities, domestic conflicts, international wars, satanic oppression will all come to an end. Almighty God will bear in His arms the spoils of victory and restore joy, praise, and delight for those who believe in Him.
According to Scripture We'll have new natures, minds, and bodies. We'll have the joy of living forever in adoration of our God, and evil will be abolished once and for all. In the end, Jesus is the incontestable winner. His story becomes our story when we believe. He's the hope of humanity and the Good News we must share as we profess our faith to others. In the end, “God Will Win”.
