Today I wanted to discuss a tool that is rarely if ever mentioned within the witch’s arsenol, the blind fold. In classic witchcraft of the fifties and sixties, a blind fold was used during initiation along with a cord to bind the witch’s hands, that were released upon initiation and the blind fold was removed.
The symbolism of the blind fold is rather simplistic, as it removes our physical sense of sight and we repose ourselves to the inner world of intuition and instinct. This is a continual aspect of the craft as “walker between the worlds” where we relate to the elements of the divine and tread within the darkness.
You can consistently use your blind fold even after initiation, to enhance your meditation practices and to focus on approaching the altar with a respect of its influence on the five senses. It can be a powerful tool to instigate psychic abilities.
An inappropriate way to use sight or the lack there of that I’ve been dealing with on a consistent basis learning the practical hard way about things, is when you close your eyes to focus on the blackness of your eyelids while your eyes are closed.. You really do not want to go this way when closing your eyes.
Also in this post, I wanted to discuss about Aesthetics in relationship to the visible sight and the admiration of art as a benefit and not a detraction to life. I have rather a dark flare for aesthetics. I admire the powerful imagery that could boderline shock value, especially on social media when it combines with quotes of empowerment.
Contrast is a big thing for me visually. I like different shades of green and orange, blue, purple, and tan and the overall differences that pictures have when you line them all up to scroll through them. That is very much a relief to me.
Satanist aesthetics is designed to bring relief to our subconscious mind. Aesthetics are supposed to evoke within us a sense of something, a meaning and a purpose of something different than the daily mundane, to escape.
One artist I admire very greatly is H.R. Giger, who has extensive art out on the web and has things to do with visual elements of the movie Aliens.
This sparks within me a selective process of media that is definitely different than the normal run of the mill mass media.
Satanic aesthetics are a different sort on many levels, and one would be wise to pursue them.
