Prayer is above all also a time
of silent exploration of your own faith,
as well as your daily life.
First, I would like to quote a sentence from a John Wesley breviary:
"God, who formed the heart of man, designed it for Himself and leaves it in
turmoil until it belongs to its Creator."
This sentence reveals to us so many beautiful suggestions or thoughts.
God is highlighted as our creator. HE leaves our heart in unrest so that we may seek,
discover and in the best case find the mysteries of the Christian faith. But this will be
more of an approach.
But also independently of a religious interpretation, these words have for me an
appropriate explanation. If something has seized us, thus has aroused our interest,
we are nevertheless "fire and flame" to be able to fathom it ever more. We become
restless, in German there is the term "hibbelig" for it, because we want to grasp and
understand it completely.
If we no longer have this positive restlessness, we are inwardly "dead", lethargic - we
have given up on ourselves and on life.
So I pray _
Holy Spirit, let the fire of wanting to seek and discover blaze in us and not cool down.
Show us every day new secrets of our world that will make us appreciate life and
understand it as best we can. Keep awake in us the will to respectful cooperation.
Thank you. Amen.
I wish us all a weekend
that keeps us "restless".
Many Greetings
Peter
