Today is "Lourdes Day". February 11, 1858 was the day of the first apparition
of Mary in Lourdes, which eventually led to a pilgrimage site for the sick of
international importance.
Since 2003, I have been very often to this impressive pilgrimage site in the
Pyrenees of southern France, where I have had impressive and formative
experiences.
In order to discover the "Secrets" of such places, it is important to be
UNbiased, because only in this way "treasures" can be lifted.
Regardless of one's attitude towards "miracles" and "healings", the barren
landscape and surroundings of Lourdes impresses with a mood that leads to
contemplation, to rethinking one's own life situation.
Such a "Lourdes" can of course be anywhere in the world, the main thing is
to be UNprejudiced and open-minded to new impressions and people of all
nations. Language barriers can be easily bridged with an open heart.
In 1993, Pope John Paul II established today's "World Day of the Sick" to
commemorate those afflicted by illness.
Today, let us remember all the sick people with prayers and good thoughts,
in order to give them our strength and positive energy.
To "my" Lourdes I have created a web page (a German version) with pictures,
which can be visited with pleasure.
