Life can be full of surprises, you can be going on your way, and God sends you a surprise. Something that you ask for, except; it is not in the package that you expected it to be. If you are not careful you will miss it, the answer to your prayers.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
A surprise is the feeling caused by something unexpected or unusual. Many times when we ask God for something we think that He will answer it a certain way. Praying for a financial miracle may mean you get hired on a job but since the bills are overdue; you don't see a job as a financial miracle.
Early in my spiritual walk, I was working but I was not making a lot of money, and even before I got paid, my check was gone. One day after we got paid, I said to my co-worker, "Well that check is gone", she responded, "You will get another one in two weeks." I learned to be grateful that I could pay the bills and I remembered what it was like without a job.
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.”
You will find it easier to be grateful when you remember the many things that God brought you through and His divine protection that surrounds you, and the provisions that He sends to you.
“Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good”
The more you recognize and appreciate all the gifts that God sends, the more your faith will increase. You will know and accept that God is working out every situation for your good. Be grateful in all things.
