Heavenly Father,
We come before Your throne today with reverence and gratitude, lifting our voices to You, the God of all creation. You are the One who lifts up the lowly, who sees every tear, and who knows every need before we even speak it. Your Word in Proverbs 19:17 reminds us of Your tender heart—that whoever is kind to the poor lends to You, and You, in Your perfect faithfulness, will reward them for what they have done. What a mystery and a privilege, Lord, that You invite us into this holy partnership with You.
Open our eyes, Father, to the faces of those who hunger, who shiver in the cold, or who feel forgotten by the world. Break our hearts for what breaks Yours, and stir within us a deep well of compassion that flows from Your Spirit. Let us not turn away from the outstretched hand or the weary soul, but instead, let us run toward them with the love of Your Son, Jesus, who never turned away the broken but welcomed them with open arms.
Lord, we confess that too often we cling to what we have, forgetting that all we possess is a gift from Your generous hand. Forgive us for the times we’ve walked by, too busy or too distracted to notice those You’ve placed in our path. Teach us to give freely—not out of guilt or pride, but out of a joyful overflow of Your grace in our lives. May our acts of kindness, whether a meal shared, a coin offered, or a moment of listening, be a sweet offering to You, a way of lending to our Savior who became poor for our sake.
We trust Your promise, God, that You see every deed done in secret, every sacrifice made in love. You are not a distant King who forgets, but a near and gracious Father who repays with blessings we cannot fathom—sometimes in this life, and always in the eternity to come. We don’t give to earn Your favor, for Your love is already ours through Christ, but we give because it draws us closer to Your heart, where justice and mercy meet.
Bless those who receive our help, Lord. Provide for their needs in ways that only You can—food for their bodies, hope for their spirits, and the knowledge that they are seen and cherished by You. And bless those who give, knitting us together as one body, united in purpose and love. May our kindness ripple outward, touching lives we may never know, all for the glory of Your name.
Father, as we walk this earth, make us a reflection of Your kingdom—where the poor are lifted up, the hungry are fed, and the lonely find a home. Let our lives proclaim that we serve a God who delights in compassion, a God who calls us to lend to Him by loving others. We pray this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and King,
Amen.
