Kindness That Echoes

  • “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” – Proverbs 19:17 (NIV)

Have you ever noticed how a small act of kindness can ripple out in ways you never expect? Maybe it’s dropping a few coins into a stranger’s cup, offering a meal to someone hungry, or simply listening to a friend who’s struggling. These moments might feel small to us, but in the eyes of God, they’re treasures. Proverbs 19:17 tells us that when we show compassion to those in need, it’s like we’re lending to the Lord Himself—and He doesn’t overlook it.

Think about that for a second. The Creator of everything sees your generosity as a personal gift to Him. It’s not just about the act; it’s about the heart behind it. When we give without expecting anything back, we’re stepping into a divine partnership. And the promise? God will reward us—not always in ways we can predict or measure, but in ways that reflect His goodness and timing.

Today, look around. There’s someone near you who could use a little light—maybe a neighbor, a coworker, or even a stranger. You don’t have to solve all their problems; sometimes a smile or a helping hand is enough. Trust that God sees it, and He’ll take care of the rest. Your kindness echoes farther than you know.

    Prayer:

Lord, open my eyes to the needs around me. Give me a heart willing to share what I have, knowing it’s You I’m serving. Thank You for Your promise to reward even the smallest acts of love. Amen.
