Berean Standard Bible
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him—even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.
To the beloved community of faith, scattered across nations and gathered under the banner of the Lamb,
Grace and peace to you from Him who is, who was, and who is to come—the Alpha and the Omega, the Eternal One who reigns in glory! My heart is stirred to write to you, that together we may marvel at the truth proclaimed in the sacred words of Revelation, especially as we reflect upon the powerful declaration found in chapter 1, verse 7: "Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. And all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen."
Beloved, let us pause in awe of this breathtaking promise. Here lies the hope for which creation groans and the promise that anchors our souls in the midst of life's storms: Jesus Christ, our risen Savior, will come again. Not in secret, nor in shadow, but in radiance and splendor visible to all. Every eye—whether blinded by doubt, hardened in rebellion, or softened by devotion—shall behold Him. No earthly power, no veil of darkness, can obscure the glory of His return.
How magnificent this vision is! With the clouds of heaven as His chariot and the brightness of His majesty filling the skies, He will descend as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Yet, this is not only a vision of triumph, but also a call to readiness and reverence, for we are reminded that His coming will pierce through human hearts and histories. The verse tells us plainly that "even those who pierced Him" shall witness this moment, and the piercing will not merely be of sight—it will be of the soul.
Are we prepared to gaze upon His face, beloved? Will our hearts be filled with joy or sorrow on that day? The tribes of the earth shall wail, for many will realize the truth too late, the truth of His love and the weight of rejecting it. But even in the midst of this mourning, the verse ends with assurance: "Even so. Amen." This is the seal of certainty, the affirmation that God's purposes are unwavering, His justice is perfect, and His mercy is beyond measure.
Let us, then, as the redeemed and beloved of Christ, take this truth to heart and allow it to propel us to action. Revelation 1:7 is not merely a promise of the future; it is a call to live in the present with urgency, hope, and holiness. How shall we respond to this vision of His coming?
First, let us worship. Let every act of our lives—whether in work, rest, or service—be a reflection of gratitude and reverence for the One who is returning. Sing with joy, pray with fervor, and live with an unwavering focus on His glory.
Second, let us witness. Every tribe, tongue, and nation will wail on account of Him—not because His coming lacks love, but because the rejection of His love brings sorrow. Therefore, let us be the heralds of His mercy today, bearing the message of salvation to every heart. There is still time for the lost to be found and the wandering to return to the Good Shepherd.
Third, let us wait with expectancy. Do not let the passage of time dull your anticipation or weaken your faith. Just as the early church lived with an eager longing for His appearing, so must we. The promise is sure; the coming King will not delay beyond the appointed time.
As you ponder these truths, my prayer is that you will be strengthened and emboldened to live with joy, courage, and love, knowing that the One who is coming with the clouds holds you securely in His hands even now. May His peace guard your hearts, and may His Spirit guide your steps as you prepare to meet Him face to face.
Let us stand firm in hope, beloved. For He is coming, and every eye shall see Him. Even so, Amen.
