...I choose to not have nor chose to have an honorific title...'just Mr. James K. Warunek will do...'no fancy robe, surplices, uniforms or the like... 'just a regular guy trying to make a difference. I prefer a low profile and small footprint. Utilizing my "status" as a "minister" with ULC really helps when called on to fill in when lazy and complacent clerics become "no shows" or when funeral homes need an officiate for the funeral services for which I work.
I am a Nichiren Buddhist and have been practicing for nearly fifty years. I am a funeral service professional and hold a degree in Mortuary Science, death careand thantatology is a hobby as well as my calling, am always aspiring to learn new things. I honor and respect all faiths and belief systems. It is an honor and priveledge to be called upon to officiate funeral services.
Since 1998, when I entered the funeral service profession, it happened all too often where either a cleric became a no show or the family, being burdened with all of the "busy work" arranging for the funeral or memorialization of their deceased loved one needed someone to offer prayers at the cemetery, funeral home, or other venue of memorialization.
I currently have accumulated a pretty good resource file of scriptures and doctrines of different belief systems and faiths and look forward to the resource publications that you offer. Thanks ULC for helping me and thank all of you in advance for your prayers and support...
