(I'm probably posting this in the wrong forum. Please forgive me if I'm doing it wrong.)
I'm new to the ministry, and I could use some help. I'm going to try leading the prayer at our family's Thanksgiving gathering this year (something I've never done), and I would appreciate suggestions for a Thanksgiving prayer. I don't want anything that will shake the pillars of Heaven; no, I'm just looking for a nice, welcoming, family prayer that gives thanks to God the way people ought to give thanks on Thanksgiving.
Please help, and thank you in advance!

As I said in the main forum, I think I may have answered my own question:
Thank You, God, for the food we are about to eat,
for those who are here to share these blessings,
and for the generosity of these hosts who have made this possible.
Bless those who are here, those who are in our hearts,
and those who are not as fortunate on this day.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
I found this on another web site and made one or two small tweaks. I hope it's okay.
